Ghana Bound: Happy Birthday, Megan!

Today was our oldest's birthday! It was a very sweet day spent with family just hanging out. We love you, Megan!! Happy Birthday!!

Adoption Timeline

5/8/11- Decided to adopt

5/11/11- Picked country (must be approved)

5/13/11- Sent off first set of paperwork

5/16/11- Paperwork arrived

5/19/11- First Home Study meeting

5/24/11- Joe got fingerprints done

5/25/11- Donna got fingerprints done

5/26/11- Second Home Study meeting

5/31/11- PPD test (Andrew and Megan)

6/1/11- Approval letter sent

6/3/11- Approval letter arrived in country

6/14/11- Final Home Study meeting

6/26/11- Letter approved. We are adopting from GHANA!!

7/27/11- Training sent off

8/1/11- Call from adoption agency and everything looks great! Got an official "Congratulations!"

8/2/11- The waiting begins for being matched

8/4/11- Dossier paperwork came in the mail

8/29/11- I600-a sent out

9/9/11- I600-a received

10/11/11- Joe and Donna fingerprints complete

10/12/11- Fingerprints cleared

10/12/11- I600-a approved

11/17/11- Saw E and S for the first time

11/18/11- Accepted their referral!! WE'VE BEEN MATCHED!!

11/29/11- Sent off our dossier and welcome bags to a traveling family

12/25/11- Saw pictures of E and S. They received their welcome bags

1/13/12- Joe and Donna received Hep A vaccine

1/27/12- Megan's fingerprints complete x2

1/27/12- Joe and Donna received Yellow Fever vaccine

2/13/12- Joe and Donna received Hep B vaccine

2/15/12- PASSED COURT! Esi and Samuel are legally ours!

2/24/12- Got I600 appointment

2/24/12- Joe and Donna sent off for Visas

3/2/12 - Visas in hand. Ready for take off.

3/15/12- Joe and Donna head to Ghana

3/17/12- Joe and Donna meet Esi and Samuel for the 1st time!!

3/19/12- 1600 filled

3/22/12- Joe and Donna said good-bye to Esi and Samuel. Hardest day ever!

4/20/12- I600 approved

4/23/12- Megan received Yellow Fever Vaccine

5/4/12- Sent off for Megan's visa

5/14/12- Received Megan's visa

7/27/12- Received Samuel's passport

8/17/12- Received Esi's passport

8/28/12- Visa appointment

9/4/12- Visas printed

9/26/12- Esi and Samuel's Homecoming!!
